CBERN Advisory Board Meeting
The CBERN Advisory Board met to review and finalize financial statements and policy recommendations for the Annual Meeting.

Friday, May 29
“Responsible Investment, Ethics and the Global Financial Crisis” Workshop
The purpose of the Workshop was to connect researchers from universities with business leaders, government officials, and NGO representatives from across Canada in effort to share insights on the ethical dimensions of responsible investment and the global financial crisis. Participation included those already involved in CBERN’s SRI Cluster including PhD students from a variety of disciplines, as well as those not yet involved with the Cluster. An objective of the workshop was to identify how CBERN can play a role with respect to SRI, through supporting and mobilizing research and transferring research findings and insights effectively among investment related constituencies, stakeholders and economic sectors.

Saturday, May 30
CBERN Annual Meeting

The CBERN 2nd Annual Meeting provided an overview of the various CBERN Research, Capacity Building and Public Dialogue initiatives underway. The day also included a brainstorming session for developing new opportunities for the network and provided participants with an update on the new CBERN website.

The day concluded with a dinner, allowing for informal dialogue and discussion amongst CBERN participants.

2nd Annual PhD Cluster Meeting
CBERN PhD Cluster participants and PhD candidates doing research involving business ethics in the fields of business, philosophy, environmental studies, political science, sociology, religious studies, history, etc., were invited to participate in the second annual meeting of the PhD Cluster.
