Me in Brief

My doctoral research focuses on the expanding role of the private sector in environmental governance and the perceived shift towards market-based tools as the preferred instruments in addressing environmental issues. Within the larger literature around non-state, market-driven initiatives, I focus on private sector-led sustainability indexing and labeling schemes and how they impact the role of governments in creating environmental policy in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Prior to entering my doctoral program, I worked with the NGO Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR) for several years. While at CBSR, I had the opportunity to work on corporate community engagement programs, sustainability consulting projects, and a range of other projects related to the implementation of CSR principles. My research is very much driven by my practical experience in Canada's CSR community.
