Abstract / DescriptionThis report presents the results of a comprehensive external and internal scan of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with respect to opportunities to improving development outcomes for people at the bottom of the economic pyramid (BOP). Based on this analysis recommendations were provided on how the IFC could redefine the BOP concept as a BOP Outcomes approach that encompasses IFC's core activities to a greater extent and thus better captures the major tenets of a holistic approach to private sector development.
