More Info

The Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) has become part of the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP), and acted as co-sponsor on the Project’s recent Canadian report. In an announcement about the initiative, (PDF 330KB) the CPPIB said that supporting the CDP is representative of the board’s entire responsible investing initiative. The CPPIB encourages companies to assess and disclose their potential environmental impact, both on the environment itself and on their operations. The report itself provides information that aims to put perspective on the potential risks of climate change to Canadian companies.

The Climate Disclosure Project involves businesses and policy makers in accelerating climate change policy by providing information relevant to their needs. CDP operates the only global climate change reporting system, and members of the Project measure and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions through the CDP.
