Aboriginal Policy and Nuclear Fuel Management Guide Released

In 2007, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) was given the mandate to implement Adaptive Phased Management (APM) in Canada. In doing so, they have focused on creating an Aboriginal Policy Guide for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel. Throughout 2009 and 2010, NWMO researched and developed the policy, which included advice from the NWM Elders Forum, the NWMO Aboriginal Working Group Niigani and through various aboriginal organizations across Canada.
