Amnesty International Canada (English Speaking) -  Executive Assistant
                                                                             
Amnesty International Canada (English Speaking) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Assistant. This is a senior position requiring a high level of competency across a range of areas.

The Executive Assistant  

  • Works closely with Amnesty’s Board and managers  
  • Provides facilitation and logistical services to meetings  
  • Drafts a wide variety of reports  
  • Undertakes analysis and research under the direction of the Executive Director  
  • Carries out a number of human resource related duties  
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Executive Director and the Secretary General.  

Qualifications:

  • Skill and experience in project coordination  
  • High level of facilitation skills  
  • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work with understanding, sensitivity and tact  
  • Well developed sense of responsibility and priority setting  
  • High level of oral and written literacy 
  • Ability to work efficiently with Microsoft office applications  
  • A minimum of a Community College diploma in human resources or executive office administration  
  • A minimum of three years experience in a senior support position, preferably in an NGO  
  • An understanding of Amnesty International’s work is highly desirable  


Length & Hours
:
This is a full-time (37.5 hrs per week) permanent position situated in Amnesty’s national office in Ottawa.  The position will begin in late September 2008.

Salary:
$53,648 - $55,194 (depending on experience and non-negotiable)
