A McLaughlin College lunch talk with Benjamin Lowinsky

McLaughlin College Senior Common Room (140 McL)
Noon  - 2:30   A light lunch will be served.

Prof. Lowinsky is a Fellow of McLaughlin college and teaches social and political thought and history in the Division of Social Science. He has been a keen observer of the impact of technology - particularly communications technology -- on society, community, and interpersonal relations.

In this talk, he describes how technology has impacted our personal and working lives while undermining our sense of self and community. He is deeply concerned about the social, economic and political implications of our technological order and wonders about whether it is still possible to find a way out of the technology trap.

Everyone is welcome
