These awards were first established by ACCA in the UK fifteen years ago and have been operating in North America for the past four years.

These awards seek to:

• encourage better reporting on sustainability, environmental and social issues by corporations and other organizations across North America
• reward best practice and provide guidance to other entities that are publishing or intend to publish sustainability, environmental and/or social reports
• increase accountability for impacts and responsiveness to stakeholders.
