Sarbanes-Oxley and Canada's new rules and guidelines were supposed to ensure greater transparency, accountability and accuracy in financial reporting.......
While new rules may have created greater confidence in how corporations are governed, Claude Lamoureux, President and CEO of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, sees it differently. "We have seen some progress in reporting and governance after SOX, but for many in some way, form has replaced substance."
As head of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Claude Lamoureux is responsible for overseeing the investment of the plan's assets and the administration of the pensions of 264,000 current and retired teachers in Ontario.
